What does the CIOF have planned for us?
Today, Giles Pegram and I have the absolute pleasure of chatting with the fantastic Harpreet Kopndel- Harps to her chums – who is the newly appointed Chair of the Chartered Institute of Fundraising. With an impressive 30 years at the fundraising coalface, Harps brings a wealth of knowledge, experience, and, vision to the role.
We dive into her plans to tackle the post-COVID challenges charities are facing, such as the economic squeeze, supporter recruitment struggles, donor retention woes, and leadership gaps in understanding how fundraising truly works. Harps passionately champions the idea of modernising the sector with effective use of technology, strengthening core practices, and giving fundraisers the tools to thrive. She also shares her vision for the CIOF – boosting membership value, educating leaders, and fearlessly advocating for fundraisers everywhere.
So, settle down with a cup of tea or a delicious glass of orange squash and get ready for a conversation that’s not just enlightening but, as ever with Harps, full of energy and determination to build a brighter, better future for the world of fundraising. More power to her!
