Don’t be boring
Creative
Back in the 80’s when Errol Morris was interviewed about his recently released film, The Thin Blue Line, it seems he waffled a little and didn’t get some key points over to the audience.
Studio head, Harvey Weinstein heard the interview and wasn’t that pleased. He decided to give the director a few tips. As you’ll read he didn’t beat about the bush.
The key instructions don’t just relate to being interviewed about a film, but could also make your next appeal more effective.
Focus on a simple proposition.
- Avoid legalese.
- Concentrate on giving the reader an emotional impact.
Update: You might like to make your own mind up whether Errol Morris was boring or not. You can hear the original interview here. (thanks to@AmandaSanter)
